We are delighted to announce AUDITIONS for our 2026/27 production of Sister Act! 🥳

Whether you’re a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the very first time, we want to hear from you! If you love singing, dancing, acting and being part of an incredible team, this could be your moment to shine. 🌟

Sunday 11th October in the Castlerosse Hotel, Killarney from 1pm

✨ Killarney Musical Society is thrilled to announce the production team for our 2026/27 production of Sister Act! ✨

We are delighted to welcome back Oliver Hurley as Director for his 16th production with KMS. Oliver, owner of The Oliver Hurley School of Musical Theatre, is an award-winning director and we are so excited to have him at the helm of this sure-to-be spectacular production 🌟

Joining KMS for the first time as Choreographer is the wonderful Barbara Meany! Barbara has choreographed many outstanding productions and was recently awarded Best Choreographer (Gilbert) at the AIMS Musical Awards. We are so excited to welcome Barbara to the KMS family 💃✨

We’re also delighted to have Jimmy Brockie returning as Musical Director for his fourth show with KMS. With his exceptional experience in conducting, musical direction and composition, Jimmy, alongside a full live band each night is sure to bring the incredible music of Sister Act to life 🎼🎺

Also returning is Sorcha O’Connor as Choral Director, working alongside Jimmy to rehearse and develop the cast’s vocals. Sorcha is a hugely valued part of the team, and we’re delighted to have her involved in bringing one of her favourite shows to life 🎤💫

With such a talented production team behind us, we cannot wait to bring this uplifting, hilarious and heartwarming show to audiences in March 2027 💜💜

Everyone at @musicalsocietykillarney were absolutely devastated to hear the news that our dear friends at @nomac_productions were amongst the victims of the horrific fire in Waterford last week. Whilst we have used their beautiful costumes in many shows over the years. Our show Michael Collins A Musical Drama performed by KMS in 2024 showcased some of their most amazing heritage pieces. Following a request to share some images of Nomac's costumes. We do so with heavy hearts. They added so much to what was a very successful show for us. From the Áras Phádraig stage to the worldwide stage!

Everyone in Killarney Musical Society is incredibly proud to see Jessie Buckley win an Oscar, what an amazing and well-deserved achievement!

Jessie first graced the stage with us in the Áras Phádraig and then in the Gleneagle Arena, performing in many productions over the years alongside members of her family who were also part of the society. It makes this moment all the more special for so many of us who remember those days so fondly.

Her success is blazing a wonderful trail for the arts and showing young and old performers across Kerry and Ireland and the world just what can grow from a love of theatre and music (and hard work). Jessie is a real inspiration to people of all ages who are involved in the arts.

We are so proud to have shared a small part of her journey. Congratulations Jessie, we’ll all be cheering you on wherever you go 🎭✨

But just before we said our farewell last night we invited our outstanding audience to join us in a KMS tradition..

Each year the cast, crew and production team stay on stage as the curtain draws to a close, and we sing our rendition of Auld Lang Syne, last night however, on our 40th finale, we invited you in to sing it with us, and boy did you get the brief 🔥

It was an experience none of us will ever forget….
