Jimmy Brockie

Jimmy is an award winning, music director and composer from Ardmore, Co. Waterford. He graduated with first‑class honours from the MTU Cork School of Music with a Bachelor of Music and later completed an MA in Commercial Composition and Performance at MTU. In 2019, he received the Alan Cutts Memorial Award for Conducting from the Cork School of Music.

Jimmy has been Musical Director for pantos in both the Cork Opera House and The 3Olympia Dublin and has performed in many of Ireland’s biggest venues including the National Concert Hall Dublin, Wexford Opera House, Grand Opera House Belfast and Cork Opera House.

He has worked on musicals such as Bonnie and Clyde, Beauty and the Beast, Evita, Fiddler on the Roof, Beautiful, Guys and Dolls, Spring Awakening, Godspell, The Sound of Music, Legally Blonde, The Last Five Years, and more recently served as Associate Musical Director on Fun Home (dir. Roisin McBrinn, Gate Theatre Dublin) and as Conductor/Arranger for The Cork Pops Orchestra (dir. Evelyn Grant, Cork City Hall).

Jimmy recently finished touring with Imelda May on Peter Sheridan’s Mother of All The Behan’s, which toured many major theatres in Ireland.

His orchestrations and arrangements have been featured by the National Concert Orchestra, including A Night of Musicals with Lyric FM and The RTÉ Concert Orchestra Presents Christmas Eve with RTÉ One. He has also contributed to The 80’s Orchestral at the 3Arena and for the Cork Pops Orchestra.
